Does Crate keep a customer list?

Yes. Crate records every customer who buys, together with their full order history, automatically and on the business's own account. A customer record in Crate carries contact details, orders, spend, notes and tags, and customers are grouped into segments such as repeat buyers or buyers in one city. The list belongs to the business and is exported from Crate at any time. Crate builds each record from real orders across the online store, Instagram, WhatsApp and the counter, so one customer is one record rather than four. Spend figures in Crate are in the merchant's own currency, USD or NGN. Crate does not sell or rent a merchant's customer list.

What it does

Capabilities

A customer record is built from real orders rather than typed in, which is why it is still accurate a year later.

Records built automatically

Someone buys on any channel and their record is created with that order already attached.

Full order history

Every order a person placed and what they have spent in US dollars, first to last.

Segments

New, repeat, high spenders and the ones you have not seen in a while, grouped for you.

Notes and tags

A size, a preference or a promise you made, waiting there next time they order.

One person, one record

Orders from the store, social, chat and the counter join up rather than making four contacts.

Exportable, because it is yours

Take the list with you at any time. The relationship is not locked inside an app.

Who it is for

Fit

The list is what a business is left with when a channel changes its rules.

Your audience lives on someone else's platform

A follower is borrowed. A customer record with an order history behind it is not.

You have regulars you keep in your head

Notes and tags put the size, the preference and the promise somewhere your staff can see them too.

You want a second order from a first buyer

Segments turn one purchase into a group you can actually reach.

Setup

How it works

There is no import step, and no separate contact tool to keep in step.

  1. Take orders as usual. Records are created as the orders arrive.
  2. Open a customer to see their orders, their spend and their details.
  3. Add notes and tags, or let a segment group them for you.
  4. Export the list whenever you want it elsewhere.

Set up from a phone. No developer, no plugin to buy, nothing to install.

Customers questions

Do I have to add customers by hand?

No. When someone buys on any channel, Crate creates their customer record for you, with their contact details and that order already saved.

Can I see a customer's full order history?

Yes. Open any customer and you see every order they have placed and what they have spent in US dollars, from their first order to their last.

What are segments for?

Segments group your customers by how they buy, such as new, repeat, high spenders and the ones you have not seen in a while, so you can reach the right group with the right message.

Is my customer list really mine?

Yes. Your customer list is yours, and you can export it whenever you want. The relationship is yours rather than locked inside an app.

Can I add notes about a customer?

Yes. Add a note or a tag to any customer, so a size, a preference or a promise you made is there next time they order.
